Flanking the eastern ridge of Outlaw Canyon, stone structures resemble ancient towns and fortresses at the top of the ridge. These natural structures get even more impressive the closer you get.
Erosion from the large amounts of water that flow through the Painted Desert leaves thousands of unique formations across the properties. Like a museum full of carved stone statues, seeing all the rock surfaces alone give weeks of entertainment.
The Canyon of the Monsters is the largest and most daunting canyon out of the many canyons you will see on our properties. This canyon is home to monster-sized boulders that have built-up at the edge of a receding waterfall.
Caves, Waterfalls & Grottos dot the area all around our private properties. We have not counted all of the caves and waterfalls yet. Because of the brittle rock layer the waterfalls flow-through, most waterfalls have grotto-caves behind them.
See a wide variety of desert cacti and plantlife. It may be the desert, but the bio-diversity is immense in the Painted Desert. Natural springs are too numerous to count, and the lush green plants and trees growing near the springs are gorgeous.
See real petrified wood & trees up-close. Hunt through fields of petrified wood and cool rocks. Guests of our tours may take home a piece of petrified wood with them from our private property.
The Moon Room is an enclosed canyon in the shape of a crescent moon. This canyon is inside the Lunar Playground attraction on our private property in the Painted Desert. The whole "room" glows in an eerie blue light reflecting off the grey-blue sand and rocks in the area.
Alienhead Ridge is a high ridge with flat, dome-topped mounds sitting above rock outcroppings. The rocks resemble the heads of aliens in a Geiger-style alien depiction.
Outlaw Canyon is a natural circular canyon that is almost completely a closed circle. The "Grand Falls" waterfalls flow into the canyon and out to the south.
The "Grand Falls" is a set of 4-story waterfalls that cascade down four levels of terrain. The largest of 20+ waterfalls on our property, the "Grand Falls" are seasonal falls that flow during monsoon season.
The "Bloop" is a big mound of clay and silt deposits on top of the Martian Plain. It features a palette of colors and shades of red in a single lemon-shaped mound, and is a perfect cross-section of the red colors of the Painted Desert.
The Lunar Playground is over 10+ acres on our private land that features stark-grey and blue rocks, sand, dirt, clays, and streams. The area looks like the surface of the moon.
The Martian Flats encompasses over 10+ acres of landscape on our private property and features Mars-like red sand, clay, streams, and rocks. This otherworldly attraction puts you on another planet, the RED PLANET!
